Understanding fundamental approach differences
CCPA allows businesses to process data first and provide opt-out mechanisms. PDPL requires upfront consent similar to GDPR - a fundamental operational difference.
PDPL requires mandatory registration with SDAIA, while CCPA has no such requirement. CCPA uniquely allows private lawsuits for data breaches.
PDPL includes data localization requirements and requires SDAIA approval for cross-border transfers. CCPA has no such restrictions.
In ReadyGDPR, CCPA/CPRA is adoptable with its own control catalogue (22 controls). PDPL is covered as a reference guide only and cannot be adopted in the product.
ReadyGDPR is software, not an appointed Data Protection Officer. If Article 37 requires you to appoint one, ReadyGDPR helps them do the job โ it doesnโt replace them.
